Comparing Nothing Phone 2a With Motorola Edge 40 Neo, iQOO Z7 Pro, and POCO X6.
The Motorola Edge 40 Neo, iQOO Z7 Pro, and POCO X6 are big rivals of Nothing Phone 2a. Here we are going to compare these phones with each other that may end the confusion about which one we should buy.
Launch Date
The device launch date also matters because smartphone companies provide mostly 2 years and few brands give 3 years of major software updates. So it is also important to see the smartphone launch date. The Nothing Phone 2a was launched on March 12, 2024, while the Motorola Edge 40 Neo was launched on September 14, 2023. The iQOO Z7 Pro was launched on September 5, 2023, and the POCO X6 debuted on January 12, 2024.
The Nothing Phone 2a appears to be the latest of the bunch, followed by the POCO X6, iQOO Z7 Pro, and Motorola Edge 40 Neo. Interestingly, the Nothing Phone 2a promises to deliver 3 years of major software updates, whereas other brands only offer 2 years of software updates.
So, in terms of launch and software update, Nothing Phone 2a is far better than other brands here.
Price And Offers
As for the pricing, the Nothing Phone 2a price starts at Rs 23,999 for the base model (8GB RAM + 128GB storage), while the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model costs Rs 27,999.
The POCO X6 price starts at Rs 19,999 for the base model 8GB RAM+256GB Storage while the 8GB RAM+512GB Storage model costs at Rs 22,999 only in India.
The Vivio iQOO Z7 Pro comes with a price of Rs 23,999 for the 8GB RAM+128GB storage model and Rs 24,999 for the 8GB RAM+256GB storage model.
The Motorola’s Edge 40 Neo cost at Rs 22,999 for the base model 8GB RAM+128GB Storage and Rs 24,999 for the 8GB RAM+256GB Storage.
As we compare these phones the POCO X6 looks better in terms of Pricing and given specifications in the phone, while the iQOO Z7 Pro is also at the same stage with the curved AMOLED display.
Build Quality & Protection
The Nothing Phone 2a is made with a plastic frame, a plastic back, and an AMOLED screen on the front side. It is protected with IP54, splash, water, and dust resistance.
POCO X6 is also made with a glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus), plastic frame, and plastic back and is protected by IP54, dust, and splash resistance.
The iQOO Z7 Pro was made with a few changes like a Glass front, plastic frame, and glass back which is slightly better than a plastic back phone. Lastly, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo is built-in with a Glass front (Gorilla Glass 3), plastic frame, and plastic back.
So here we have so many puzzles in mind but POCO X6 because it is made with Plastic and Glass back and the front is protected by Gorilla Glass Vistus Protection. So, in terms of Build Quality And protection, we will go with POCO X6.
Display
The Nothing Phone 2a comes with a 6.7-inch, 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display supported by HDR10+, AOD, 700 nits (typ), 1100 nits (HBM), and 1300 nits (peak) brightness. The iQOO Z7 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch, 120Hz AMOLED display that supports HDR10+ and 1300 nits (peak) brightness. On the other side, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo brought a 6.55-inch, 144Hz, P-OLED display that supports HDR10+ and 1300 nits (peak) brightness.
Overall, the phone’s display is quite good, but the Motorola Edge 40 Neo has a slightly better display than others. This allows you buttery smooth graphics with its 144Hz excellent refresh rate display.
Platform
Moving to software, and hardware, the Nothing Phone 2a runs on the latest Android 14-based Nothing Os 2.5 skin and promises to provide you 3 years of major software updates. It boasts MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset and Mali-G610 MC4 GPU for better optimization.
While POCO X6 runs on Android 14 out of the box and carries the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 (4 nm) chipset which is quite good and built on the latest making processes.
The iQOO Z7 Pro comes with the Android 14, FunTouch Os 14 support out of the box and carries a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 (4 nm) chipset which is slightly older than the custom Dimensity 7200 Pro Chip.
The Motorola Edge 40 Neo brought MediaTek Dimensity 7030 (6nm) and running on Android 14 out of the box. So comparing these things, the Nothing Phone 2a is a clear winner because it is running on the latest software even in the box and promises 3 years of software updates, while these other brands have only 2 years of security upgrades certification.
Camera Efficiency
Camera is an essential part of our daily living that’s why we prefer a good camera phone at any cost. The Nothing Phone 2a comes with a dual 50-megapixel camera setup with the support of OIS and PDAF features enabling exciting features in the phone. This camera setup allows 4K recording at 30FPS and 60FPS video recording at 1080p video resolutions. Also, there is a 32Mp shooter on the front side crafting a great picture even in the low light conditions.
On the other hand, POCO X6 comes with a triple camera setup including a 64-megapixel primary wide camera. 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor which allows you also same video recording methods— 4K @30FPS and 1080p @60FPS. The front side has a 16Mp shooter which also allows 1080p recording at 60FPS.
The Vivo iQOO Z7 Pro carries a dual rear camera setup including a 64Mp primary camera and a 2 Mp depth sensor which allows 30FPS recording on both 4K and 1080p. Also, its 16Mp camera on the front side allows 30FPS recording at FHD+ Resolution only.
Apart from that, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo has a dual camera setup with a 50Mp primary camera and a 13Mp ultrawide camera that allows 4K and FHD+ resolution recording at 30FPS only. Also, its 32Mp front camera allows FHD+ recording at 30FPS only.
So as we compare these phone camera features, we feel Nothing Phone 2a gives you better optimization in pictures and videos. Great color grading, punchy colors, and accurate edges. So here we have the winner Nothing Phone 2a In terms of camera features.
Sensors
As for the sensors, all the models have almost all the necessary sensors like a fingerprint scanner, GPS, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, Gyro, Proximity, Compass, etc. But Nothing Phone 2a has the latest software and hardware so it is better than others.
Battery And Charging
The Nothing Phone 2a comes with a 5000mAh non-removal battery with the support of 45W wired charging capability, unfortunately, there is no charger in the box and you need to buy one out of the box.
On the other side, the POCO X6 boasts a 5100mAh battery and comes with a 67W fast-wired charger in the box. The Vivo iQOO Z7 Pro carries a 4600 mAh battery and a 66W wired charger in the box, and the Motorola Edge 40 Neo supports a 5000mh battery and a 68W wired charger.
So the best thing is all the phones come with a charger in the box except Nothing Phone 2a. So I think all the phones are quite good in terms of battery and charging capabilities but, because Nothing provides any charger in the box, it degraded in the race and the winner is the Motorola Edge 40 neo and Vivo iQOO Z7 Pro.
Authors Opinion
If you are looking for a gorgeous premium design phone with an excellent camera, battery, and performance then we have all these phones at the same viewpoint but if you are a fan of clean UI and lots of customization then you should look at the Nothing Phone 2a.
If you are comparing gaming performances then the Vivo iQOO Z7 Pro Motorola Edge 40 Neo and POCO X6 give better gaming performance but it doesn’t mean that Nothing Phone 2a is bad, but it is just good and value for money.
If you are looking for better camera features and qualities, then you can go with the Nothing Phone 2a. However, it has a 50Mp sensor but it is quite optimized and crafts excellent pictures even in low light. So if you are looking for the best camera phone then you can go with Nothing Phone 2a.
As for the battery, almost all phones provide you with the best and optimized battery capabilities but Nothing Phone 2a does not provide an in-box charger which seriously disappoints us. So if you are looking for the best phone with a good battery and charging capabilities then you can go with iQOO Z7 Pro, POCO X6, or Motorola Edge 40 Neo.
Phone Name | Overall Author Ratings |
---|---|
Nothing Phone 2a | 7/10 |
POCO X6 | 7/10 |
Vivo iQOO Z7 Pro | 8/10 |
Motorola Edge 40 Neo | 8/10 |
Overall, If you ask us to get a phone under a 25K budget in India, then my first choice will be the iQOO Z7 Pro, Then Motorola Edge 40 Neo, Then Nothing Phone 2a, and lastly POCO X6.
Now if you ask us, why are we letting POCO X6 at the last? The main reason behind that is, that the POCO X Series becoming so controversial for less-durable motherboards. Most of the phone in the POCO X series faces Motherboard issues. But still, its price is lower than all the phones here, so it still is a value-for-money mobile phone with excellent gaming performance.
Is it worth buying Nothing Phone 2a?
Obviously Yes! Nothing Phone 2a comes with the latest software, lots of customization, excellent performances, a massive battery, and optimized Camera sensors. A few things we disappoint it is Storage Type. It comes with UFS 2.2 which is not fair at this cost, at least it deserves UFS 3.0. Moreover, there is no external card support, No 3.5mm jack, No charger in the box, and no wireless charging capabilities, even though it is made with a plastic body that takes fingerprints quickly, but no worries. Except, for these things, all the features are quite good and best. But what do you personally feel about it? The overall experience was awesome, the gaming performance was really good.
